Grace & Frankie star Baron Vaughn returns to Amphibian Stage for the third time since creating the residency series back in 2017. After starting this unique opportunity for stand-up artists, many big-name comedians–including Aparna Nancherla, Phoebe Robinson, River Butcher, and Sasheer Zamata–have come through Amphibian Stage.

Ashley Ray is the most famous bisexual solo polyamorous black queer comedian, actor, and writer currently based in Los Angeles. In 2021, she was featured in Bust for her “whip smart TV criticism.” And yes, she’s also famous for smoking pot.

 

In 2022, Ashley wrote onAdult Swim’s, ALABAMA JACKSON created by Donald Faison. Ashley was selected as one of HBO Max’s Queer Comics to Watch for 2021 and filmed a digital special for the platform. That same year she did a sold out hour at Union Hall in NY and debuted a new hour at The Yard Theater in Los Angeles. She hosts High Gear Comedy, a monthly live show with Barbara Gray at The Airliner in LA.

Amphibian Stage is bringing last year’s Parking Lot Comedy Festival back with a brand new lineup featuring DFW’s funniest comics with two nights of socially distanced, outdoor, stand-up comedy shows.

 

Comedians will be curated by the always funny Paulos Feerow. As the safety of patrons and performers is of primary concern, the entire event will take place outside, in the parking lot of the 120 S. Main Street theatre. All seating will be socially distanced.

His first half-hour special “A Different Kind of Dude” debuted on Comedy Central’s Youtube channel and was called “a masterclass in culture war commentary” by Esquire.com. River Butcher is a Los Angeles-based standup comic, actor, and writer. His first half-hour special “A Different Kind of Dude” debuted on Comedy Central’s Youtube channel and was called “a masterclass in culture war commentary” by Esquire.com. The special also garnered the title of “Some of the Best Jokes of 2022 So Far.” River recently wrote and produced on the FX pilot “Belated,” previously wrote for “A League of Their Own,” and created/starred in/wrote the critically acclaimed and GLAAD award- nominated “Take My Wife.” You may have also seen them as nonbinary standup comic LB Brady on “Good Trouble” and Adam Conover’s sibling on “Adam Ruins Everything” or queer dinner guest Denim in the hit “Friendsgiving.” They’ve done stand-up all over the country, the globe, and the screen, including Ellen, Conan, Comedy Central, and HBO.

Paulos Feerow is a Stand Up comedian who was raised in Dallas, Texas. Paulos started Stand Up in 2012, and is a regular performer around the DFW metroplex. He has opened for traveling headliners such as Phoebe Robinson (HBO), Sam Jay (HBO), Baron Vaughn (Netflix), James Adomian (ABC), Aparna Nancherla (Comedy Central), Emily Heller (HBO), Sasheer Zamata (SNL), Godfrey (HBO), and Paul Rodriguez. He has performed at the Dallas Comedy Festival, “The New Negroes” at UCB Franklin, and was a finalist in the Los Angeles Scripted Comedy Festival produced by iO West in Los Angeles.
Paulos currently produces the “The Playground” at Stomping Ground and co-produces the “PHiB Comedy Series” with Baron Vaughn (Grace and Frankie and MST3K on Netflix) at Amphibian Stage in Ft Worth.
Paulos has co-wrote and performed sketch revues with groups “Fraud City” and “FCC Presents.” With the members of Fraud City, he helped write “Law and Order: The SVUsical,” and co-wrote and produced several FCC Presents sketch revues.
