Los Angeles-based standup comic, actor, and writer returns to Amphibian Stage for the third time! His first half-hour special, “A Different Kind of Dude” debuted on Comedy Central’s Youtube channel and was called “a masterclass in culture war commentary” by Esquire.com. The special also garnered the title of “Some of the Best Jokes of 2022 So Far.” He’s done standup all over the country, the globe, and the screen, including Ellen, Conan, Comedy Central, and HBO.

Lauren Davis

Lauren Davis is a Dallas comedian delighted to be returning to the wonderful Amphibian Theater! Her stand-up was featured on several episodes of the show “Laughs” which was broadcast on Fox, Hulu and FuseTV. She was also a featured stand-up in the ViceTV documentary “Funny How?” hosted by comedy historian Kliph Nesteroff. Lauren was a finalist at Westside Showdown, voted Best in Fest at Burbank Comedy Festival, and was a recurring performer at SF Sketchfest. Known for burning her proverbial bra and bridges in her Sisyphian quest to make DFW comedy a safe space for women, Lauren is delighted to be performing at the Amphibian Theater once again as they go above and beyond in their mission to create a fair and inclusive space for performers.

Lauren is also a sketch and improv performer who trained and performed at UCBLA, Groundlings, the Magnet Theater, Dallas Comedy House and Four Day Weekend. She was a house team performer and taught at the PIT NY, and created and taught the stand-up comedy program at the Dallas Comedy House. She can be seen performing with her improv teams “Kirsten Dunst” and “Bonobos” at theaters around DFW.

Lauren is a contributing script writer for the Emjoy app, an audio app which creates empowering erotic stories for women and nonbinary people. She is the voice of Samantha Powers in the “Destination: Maui” audiobook mystery series written by Ann Shephird, available on Audible, Google Play, and Storytel (very fun listens!) Lauren and fellow comedian Nikki Gasparo have a podcast called “Once in a Lifetime” (@onceinalifetimepodcast), “a pop culture podcast for hell hags, by hell hags”, available on iTunes.
