AUDITION NOTICE
AMPHIBIAN STAGE HOLDS GENERAL AUDITIONS FOR THE FIRST 3 PRODUCTIONS IN ITS UPCOMING 2025 SEASON ON OCTOBER 19 & 20
Amphibian Stage will hold general auditions for the following season productions. Individual production information and roles breakdowns are below. Seeking professional actors (both AEA and non-AEA) for all roles listed.
We encourage all actors to attend regardless of the role descriptions below. In addition to finding actors and actresses who match the role descriptions below, we are also open to seeing a wide variety of talent in the DFW area. So, if you want to be seen by us, come audition! We welcome new faces, emerging artists and returning professional talent of all types, races, gender and ages (21 and up).
AUDITION INFORMATION
WHEN?
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19 from 10:00AM-6:00PM (with a lunch break between 12:30PM-1:30PM) & SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20 from 5:30 PM-9:30PM
If you are unable to attend auditions, we will accept video submissions. Please record yourself and submit along with headshot and resume to info@amphibianstage.com by October 19th. If able, we highly recommend you attend in-person auditions as we have new directors in the room who might not be familiar with your work.
WHERE?
All auditions are in-person and will be held at Amphibian Stage, located at 120 S. Main Street, Fort Worth Texas. All auditioners may park in the lot directly adjacent to the theatre. Once you check in for your appointment, the audition monitor will provide you with the parking code to validate parking.
WHAT TO PREPARE?
All actors are asked to prepare a contemporary comedic or dramatic monologue of their choice not to exceed 90 seconds in length.

WHEN ARE CALLBACKS?
Callbacks for ROOTED, our first production of 2025, will be held on Tuesday, October 22 between 6:00-9:00PM. Callbacks for THE HEART SELLERS will be held on Sunday, December 15; time TBD. Callbacks are by invitation only.

ROLES AVAILABLE:
EMERY: 40s-60s, female, any race. Lives in a treehouse. Uses a walker, though it’s unclear how much she actually needs it. She’s performing scientific experiments on the consciousness of plants. Plants make sense. People are confusing. And loud. And hard to read. And sometimes they touch you which is awful. So much safer to be alone with her plants.
HAZEL: 40s-60s, female, any race. Emery’s older sister. She’s been a waitress at the Millerville Diner for way too long, taken care of Emery even longer. Frustrated and powerless, a rage roiling just beneath the surface. She could have done so much with her life. Is it too late?
LUANNE: 20s-30s, female/non-binary, any race. Guileless. Hungry for joy, for a tribe, for something larger to believe in.
SYNOPSIS: Emery and her sister, Hazel, have never ventured out of their tiny town in upstate New York. This is “A-ok” with Emery, who would happily spend the rest of her days alone, in her homemade treehouse, blogging about her experiments on the consciousness of plants. But when Emery becomes an unexpected internet sensation and crowds start congregating believing she’s their new savior, Hazel sees an opportunity for profit and escape.
Rift or White Lies by Gabriel Jason Dean

ROLES AVAILABLE:
INSIDE BROTHER: White Male. (the character ages from late 20s to late 40s). Scrappy, a survivor, street-smart, a player. You never quite know if he’s telling the truth. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN PRE-CAST.
OUTSIDE BROTHER: White Male (the character ages from late 20s to late 40s) Earnest, determined, wary. The first (and only) member of his family to go to college/graduate school. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN PRE-CAST
SYNOPSIS: Two brothers–one a progressive novelist, the other a convicted murderer and high-ranking member of a white supremacist prison gang–are united through their traumatic childhood. Now adults, these men navigate the edges of their brotherly bond. Are they truly so different? Is it possible to love someone whose beliefs you hate?
THE HEART SELLERS by Lloyd Suh

ROLES AVAILABLE:
LUNA: 23, Filipina, female. Warm and talkative; longs for friendship. This role requires a Filipino accent and is open to AAPI actors.
JANE: 23, Korean, female. Reserved and careful, but hungry for adventure. This role requires a Korean accent and is open to AAPI actors.
SYNOPSIS: Jane and Luna run into each other in the grocery store on Thanksgiving in 1973 and find they have much in common: each are recent Asian immigrants, a bit homesick and lonely with hardworking absentee husbands, and adjusting to a new country filled with new opportunities. Over sips of wine and a questionable frozen turkey, they dream of disco dancing, learning to drive, even a visit to Disneyland! They share their hopes and challenges for making a new home in a new land with grace and dignity.
