Amphibian Stage is a family of artists, patrons, and business partners who believe that the arts strengthen communities.

WHO WE ARE

Amphibian’s mission is to produce innovative and engaging theater that inspires new ideas, opens new doors, and increases our understanding of the vast world around us.

What They’re Saying

Our Values

We value storytelling as a catalyst for empathy, self-knowledge, and deeper thought.

We value the risks we are willing to take to breathe life into these stories.

We value our audience for their openness to be moved and changed by theater.

READ OUR STATEMENT OF SUPPORT. Amphibian Stage’s Statement on Equity and Inclusion can be found here.

Our History

Amphibian Stage is a non-profit theatre company founded in 2000 by three alumni of TCU’s Department of Theatre who strive to produce innovative and engaging theater that inspires new ideas, opens new doors, and increases our understanding of the vast world around us. Now in our twenty-fifth season, we have produced numerous groundbreaking and challenging plays (some regional premieres, others US or world premieres) that foster a deeper understanding of ourselves as members of the global community. Our company is widely recognized for producing stylistically and thematically varied scripts.

Committed to nurturing young and diverse audiences, Amphibian has developed a strong internship program and a student matinee program.  In 2018, in collaboration with Stephan Wolfert, Amphibian Stage launched our ongoing De-Cruit classes for veterans. Using Shakespeare, these classes help veterans process their military experiences and reconnect to the community.
