OUTREACH AND DEVELOPMENT APPRENTICESHIP FOR
SPARKFEST 2025

Description:
SparkFest is a nationally respected annual performing arts festival that includes new play development workshops, a national acting competition, lectures, educational events, and a wide variety of music/dance/artistic/cultural events. Annually, it draws 65+ artists and 900+ patrons. In 2025, SparkFest will celebrate Native Americans and peoples indigenous to Turtle Island (or the North American continent) and Hawai’i. The festival dates are June 13-23, 2025.
The apprentice will be working with the Director of Development and Community Outreach to:
Research, establish connections and invite community members and relevant groups to the festival
Research, establish connections and invite Native American/Indigenous community members, artists and organizations to the festival
Research, establish connections and solicit sponsorships
Welcome and mingle with our community partners and invitees during the festival
Document all community outreach efforts for grants & sponsors

Dates and Format for Apprenticeship:
Feb 25th– June 20th
Feb- May: Remote (Zoom and phone call check-ins weekly or more often if needed)
Summer months mid-May – June 23rd: In person at Amphibian Stage in Fort Worth, TX
MUST BE AVAILABLE DURING THE LENGTH OF THE FESTIVAL. Please check festival dates before applying. We will not be able to pay the stipend if the apprentice cannot work during the festival. 

The ideal candidate:
Interest in collaborating and learning from a Non-profit Development Professional
In college or a recent college graduate (1-4 years out) seeking to gain experience in the field of arts-related community outreach, basics of non-profit development and arts education
Is highly dependable, motivated, and organized
Is comfortable articulating logical, artistic opinions
Appreciation for the arts
Shares the values of Amphibian Stage as expressed in our Diversity Equity Inclusion and Accessibility and Mission statements
Has dependable transportation to and from the theatre

Stipend: $1200- $1500 total | @ $15 an hour | On average 5-7 hours a week over 15 weeks |

Please note: Unreasonable number of absences and/or delays with deadlines may result in the termination of the apprenticeship
